how it works

The Tech23 companies are selected using a merit-based application process that attracts over 140 applications every year. The companies must be young (less than seven years old), Australian-owned, and unique, with technology at the heart of their robust business model. Applications are favoured if they can demonstrate real market need, intellectual property, and the potential for high growth.

The successful 23 are sorted into 6 broad industry streams that reflect the nature of their business. Past streams include Consumer Web, Medtech/Health, and Smart/Green Technology. In the lead up to the event, the exciting startups are given support from our team of mentors (including representatives from ATP Innovations, Blackbird Ventures and Citrix) to help them show their business in its best light.
